October Is Pastor Appreciation Month!

October Is Pastor Appreciation Month!

Dear Church Family,

October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity for us to take a moment to thank Pastor Kris and Pastor Brenda for all they do for our church family. They don't know I'm sending this email! This is simply a little idea from the church office to help us surprise them with some extra love and encouragement throughout the month.

Pastoral ministry is about so much more than what we see on Sunday mornings. Our pastors put in long days and countless hours caring for people, preparing sermons and worship services, attending meetings, making visits, answering calls and messages, praying with and for our church family, and handling the many behind-the-scenes details that keep the ministry of our church moving forward. So much of what they do happens quietly and behind the scenes, often without anyone knowing just how much time and effort goes into it. They faithfully serve our church through both the big moments and the everyday responsibilities, and October gives us a special opportunity to let them know how much they are loved and appreciated.

There are many simple ways you can show your appreciation:

• Send a note or card – A handwritten note sharing how one of our pastors has made a difference in your life can mean so much.

• Let them know you are praying for them – Take a moment to tell Pastor Kris or Pastor Brenda that you are praying for them and their ministry.

• Send an email – A quick message of encouragement can brighten their day.

• Share a favorite memory or something you appreciate – Tell them about a sermon, conversation, prayer, or moment that has been meaningful to you.

• Bring a small treat or favorite snack – It doesn't have to be elaborate. A little something simply says, "We were thinking of you!"

• Invite them to lunch or coffee – Spending a little time together is a wonderful way to encourage our pastors.

• Give them the gift of encouragement – Simply stop by, say thank you, give them a hug, or let them know that you are grateful for the way they serve our church.

Let's make sure our pastors know just how grateful we are for them and for the ways God is using them to serve The Church at Litchfield Park.
