Dear Church Family,

This Sunday at CLP we'll enjoy worship with our handbell choirs at 8:30 am.  The bells will be joined by the CLP Band for a richly textured 10 am service.

I am looking forward to preaching a sermon entitled "The Called" from Luke 5:1-11.  In this passage, Jesus calls Peter away from his commercial fishing career into a ministry of fishing for human beings.  I am excited to share some cultural and literary background information that can help us better understand Jesus' calling on our lives and for us as a congregation.

A trammel net, like ones used in first-century Galilean fishing, is pictured above behind the sermon title.  We can tell that Peter fished with a trammel net, rather than a cast net or a dragnet, by the particular instructions Jesus gave as he told Peter how and where to fish.  Knowing details like this can help us more fully experience the story, receive Jesus' word, and apply it to our lives.

The Men's Walk to Emmaus is March 27-30; the Women's Walk is April 3-6. The weekend in Sierra Vista begins on Thursday at 7 pm and ends on Sunday at 7 pm. Transportation will be coordinated by the sponsors, those who have previously been on a Walk: Pastor Ted Brandt, Chanca Morrell, Carolann Sachs, and Joe Charles.

Nursery is available for children from newborns to 4 years old at all worship services. Check-in is in the breezeway between classrooms 4 and 5. 

Volunteers - you are appreciated! At The Table@CLP this past Wednesday, our team of volunteers prepared and served a delicious dinner to nearly 100 people as we enjoyed fellowship, food, worship, the Word, and fun.  All that we do at CLP happens by God's Spirit and with your help.

We have many kinds of opportunities to serve the Lord at CLP for persons of all abilities.  CLP ministries are provided to the church and community with the help of dedicated volunteers.  We are the church, together!
