We learned about Moses and the laws God gave him to share with His people. These laws were designed to help them live their best lives, honoring God and each other. We also talked about how rules help guide us, keep us safe, and show us how to love God and others well.

This is a great opportunity to talk with your children about some of the important rules you have at home and why these rules are in place. It can be a meaningful way to connect and reinforce how rules help us live well together!

Dear Parents and Families,

We are excited to prepare for our next Serve Sunday on February 2 (Communion Sunday). This is a special day where we’ll focus on “Serving in Christ’s Love and Engaging in God’s Mission.” This day provides an opportunity for kids to come together and explore what it means to live out our faith through service, embodying Christ’s love in our community and beyond.

At CLP, we partner with ministries like Feed My Starving Children, New Life Center, Open Arms, Agua Fria Food Bank, and St. Mary’s Food Bank to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. This January and February, we’re inviting you and your family to join us in creating Blessing Bags for the Agua Fria Food Bank.

Family Project: Blessing Bags

The easiest way to participate is as a family! Together, create Blessing Bags at home to serve those in need. Let this be a hands-on project where your children can actively contribute and experience the joy of giving. Once completed, you can bring your Blessing Bags to church. If you have extra items, we encourage you to send them in so that we can assemble additional bags during church.

Here’s what to include in your Blessing Bags:

1. Non-Perishable Snacks and Drinks
   • Bottled water (a big need!)
   • Canned soup/stew with pull-tops
   • Peanut butter crackers or tuna snack packs
   • Dried fruits, trail mix, or granola bars
   • Fruit snacks, pudding cups, or applesauce
2. Personal Items
   • Socks (another big need!)
   • Travel-sized toiletries (soap, shampoo, deodorant, wet wipes)
   • Toothbrush and toothpaste

Special Service Opportunity

Mark your calendars! On February 15, CLP Kids and their families are invited to serve at Feed My Starving Children from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This event is open to children aged 6 and older and offers a meaningful way to engage in God’s mission as a family.

Why It Matters

Serving together as a family strengthens bonds and nurtures your children’s faith. Projects like these help children understand their identity in Christ, experience the goodness of God, and embrace the joy of serving others in His name.

We’re so excited to see how our church family will come together to bless the community.

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us.

Help us to show love to our family and friends, just like You love us. Fill our hearts with joy so we can be happy and share that happiness with others. Give us peace so we can stay calm and help make our homes and schools peaceful places. Teach us patience so we can wait our turn and be understanding with others. Show us how to be kind to everyone we meet, and help us to do good things every day. Help us to be faithful to You, our family, and our friends, always keeping our promises. Give us a gentle heart so we can be gentle in our words and actions. And please help us to have self-control so we can make good choices, even when it's hard.

Please guide us as we grow in our faith. Teach us how to serve others in love, like Jesus did, and help us be part of Your mission. Show us how to live in a way that honors You and shares Your love and light with the world.
