One Good Man Deserves a Fresh StartThe story of Noah What does it mean to listen? How do you know if someone is listening to you? How does it feel when someone listens to you? How does it feel when they don't? Have you ever felt/heard the Spirit guiding you, and you listened? Have you ever ignored Him? Today's story was about Noah. Noah was a faithful man who listened to God. It wasn't easy because God asked him to do a very BIG thing, and people thought he was crazy and teased him. But Noah was faithful and obedient and did what God asked. Noah is a special person in the Bible because he listened to God when no one else did. God told Noah to build a big ark (a giant boat) to save his family and animals from a huge flood that was coming. Even though others laughed at him, Noah trusted God and followed His instructions. After the flood, God made a promise never to flood the whole earth again, and He gave the rainbow as a sign of that promise. From Noah, we learn that listening to God and trusting Him is important, even when it's difficult or when others don’t understand. God always keeps His promises, and we should be faithful to Him just like Noah was! For more infomation visit:

Pray
Dear God, Thank you for loving us. Help us to show love to our family and friends, just like You love us. Fill our hearts with joy so we can be happy and share that happiness with others. Give us peace so we can stay calm and help make our homes and schools peaceful places. Teach us patience so we can wait our turn and be understanding with others. Show us how to be kind to everyone we meet, and help us to do good things every day. Help us to be faithful to You, our family, and our friends, always keeping our promises. Give us a gentle heart so we can be gentle in our words and actions. And please help us to have self-control so we can make good choices, even when it's hard. Please guide us as we grow in our faith. Teach us how to serve others in love, like Jesus did, and help us be part of Your mission. Show us how to live in a way that honors You and shares Your love and light with the world. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen. |

The Story for Children
Dear Parents: Blessings to all of you and your family! Welcome to The Story for Children! We are pleased and honored that your child is with us and going to be participating in The Story for Children Curriculum. As you may know, this program has thirty-one lessons—thirty-one beautiful messages of God’s love and care for his children. Each lesson is designed so that your child will be made completely aware of God’s message in each one through the Bible verses, Bible Points, the stories, and various activities. While we as a class explore God’s Word, we encourage you to extend that exploration to your home. Share your own love of His Word with your child, talk about what you are learning in your adult class, and allow your child time to freely talk about and ask questions about what is being learned. Be sure to encourage sharing the activity sheets or have your child tell you the Bible story that has been highlighted each week. Even allow them to tell you about some of the discussions that have taken place and continue them at dinner or family reflection time! Look for the chapter Parents’ Page. Read and do some of the activities that are part of the Parents’ Page sent home each week (some chapters are covered over multiple weeks and an eNews is sent on Sunday with the details about that Sunday's lesson focus). This is a family experience. God is the all-loving Father; we are his children. As The Story unfolds for all of us here at The Church at Litchfield Park, share the experience with your child. We have been blessed with this incredible story! Let’s help make our children incredible and faith-filled storytellers. God’s blessings, Brenda Houlihan CLP Kids' Director |
