The Wise and Foolish Builders

²⁴ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. ²⁶ But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.²⁷ The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

²⁸ When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, ²⁹ because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

1. What did Jesus compare a wise man to in the story? (Answer: A wise man is like someone who builds their house on a rock.)
2. What did Jesus compare a foolish man to in the story? (Answer: A foolish man is like someone who builds their house on sand.)
3. What happened to the house built on the rock when the storm came? (Answer: It stood firm and did not collapse.)
4. What happened to the house built on the sand when the storm came? (Answer: It fell down because it had a weak foundation.)
5. What does this story teach us about the importance of listening to and obeying Jesus' teachings? (Answer: It teaches us that when we follow Jesus' teachings, we build a strong foundation for our lives that can withstand challenges and difficulties.)

Jesus, You died upon a cross and rose again to save the lost 

Forgive me now of all my sin
Come be my Savior, Lord, and Friend. 

Change my life and make it new . Help me, Lord, to live for You.

our God is three in one.
