We have been so grateful to have Jill Tabata serve as our Choir Director since January of 2018. She has been a tremendous blessing and has been blessed in so many ways, but feels it is time for her to step down before the next choir season begins. Many of her children’s extracurricular activities conflict with rehearsals at the church and with her husband’s work schedule. We will begin searching for a new Choir Director immediately. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please have them contact the church office. We will let you know when her final Sunday at CLP is so that you can thank her. Jill has agreed to serve as a substitute pianist/organist occasionally. 

Conversations about how best to proceed with filling pastoral vacancies when they occur, using or not using a recruiter and how best to involve the congregation in the search process, are in the works. More information will be provided in the weekly eNews and bulletin, and on the website in the near future. 

Anyone helping to lead VBS is asked to attend the VBS Leader Meeting on June 4 at 12pm in Souers Community Hall.

Mission Camp is a free community event that will take place June 19-23 from 8a-12pm. Students in grades 5-12 are invited to come and serve God's people! We have some amazing plans for the week and are SO SO excited to see how God will work in the lives of our kids and in the lives those we work with. We will travel in a charter bus to each of the community locations. Here is the plan for the week: Monday-St. Mary's Food Bank; Tuesday-Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church to participate in their food box ministry for the working poor; Wednesday: Feed My Starving Children; Thursday: on site--we will be making lunches for the homeless, cards to go in the lunches, sewing clothing to donate to a orphanage in Africa, making pillows and bracelets, and other projects that will benefit the missions our church supports; Friday: on site. We will be working around the church for about an hour and then having a water day with a GIANT slip-n-slide and other water games. Every day we will end our time together with a devotion and discussion about what meant the most to the kids that day. In addition to all of this, we will be asking the kids to bring in backpacks/school supplies to donate to our local public school district. These backpacks will get "stuffed" with school supplies and will be available to families who indicate they need assistance when they register their child for school. We are so so excited and can't wait to see how God moves not only in the youth who participate the people we get to serve! 

Thank you to Greg Clement and Ray Whittemore for installing a new rack extension! The ladies immediately loaded it with garments.
