Spiritual Growth is Happening!

Spiritual Growth is Happening!

We Grow in Our Faith

Dear Church Family,

I am so excited about what God is doing at CLP in this season of spiritual growth!  We have men attending a weekly study with Pastor Kris as well as a monthly dinner and study. Our women are overflowing two sections of a study on Proverbs.  Eleven Walk to Emmaus pilgrims are working with their sponsors and me as they prepare for their upcoming spiritual renewal weekend.

When I first met you all back in June of last year, I heard you, the congregation, say that you wanted a confirmation class to be held sometime soon and also a ministry to help couples.  I am excited to report that both the confirmation class and the Emotionally Healthy Relationships class are going strong.  It looks like the classes can be repeated in the coming years as I continue to serve as your Senior Pastor alongside Pastor Kris and Pastor Brenda.

The Spirit is moving more people to express interest in membership; this past Sunday we had four people in new member orientation.

Worship attendance is encouraging.  The 10 am service in particular attracts visitors each week; this past Sunday I counted 8 - 10 first-timers, including some younger adults and children.  On Wednesdays, worshipping in Dinner Church at The Table@CLP, we see seniors who have been coming to Wednesday dinners for years now mingling with new (to us) singles, families, and children.

I note that some of our members have paid their 2025 pledges in full already, contributing to strong offerings in February and the first three Sundays in March.  We can all thank God for the CLP members who continue to step up to support the work of the Gospel with prayers, presence, gifts, and service.  Let's keep it up as we trust the Lord together :-)

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Ted

Dear Church Family,

We have a blue apron for you at The Table!  We’re seeking sous chefs to serve with Chef Carla in her fun kitchen and other folks to serve the happy diners coming through the buffet.  It’s always a blessing to work as a team to create a warm family environment for everyone who comes through the doors.

Sincerely,

Cathy Brandt, Volunteer Coordinator for The Table@CLP

Sunday's Sermon

Sunday's Sermon

Second Sunday of Lent

Enjoy this video of worship songs by the CLP Band led by Pastor Kris and a sermon from Psalm 27 by Pastor Ted.  The sermon begins by talking about the fears we have that may come from a mix of family of origin, life experience including traumatic events and personality type. Psalm 27 has four stanzas and a finale; understanding and praying this Psalm can help us in our journey towards overcoming fears and moving forward in faith.

Here’s an outline of Psalm 27, a prayer of confidence:

Psalm 27:1-3       Lord, you are the basis for my confidence.

Psalm 27:4-6       One thing I desire more than any other - to be in your presence.

Psalm 27:7-10     Hear me, O Lord, as I pray for help.

Psalm 27:11-12    Teach me O Lord; I want to learn your ways.

Psalm 27:13-15    I believe that you, O God, will get it done.  Until then, I wait for you, Lord.
