Pledge for 2025Together We Give, Together We Grow Giving is a spiritual practice founded on the grace of Jesus, who enriched us all by giving His all. Wedding BlessingA Note from Pastor Ted and Cathy Dear Church Family, As many of you know, although we got married in Los Angeles in June we have always planned to have a second ceremony at CLP – a celebration of the blessing of starting our new lives with our new church family. Pastors Kris and Brenda will preside along with our sister-in-law, USN Rear Admiral Tracy Hines. Here's a brief introduction to Tracy. Her presence feels perfect for the celebration on Veterans Weekend. We will also honor the memories of our dads, both veterans. In lieu of gifts, contributions may be made to Operation Second Chance to support veterans and their families. We're contracting with special people to provide food and music for the celebration; we'd love it if you could RSVP by October 12th to help us plan and budget. Please click on the button below to RSVP. Thank you! With love, Ted and Cathy Brandt For more infomation visit:

Women@CLP Study the Book of LukeThursday Night Study: Gut Level Compassion Join Women@CLP as we explore the book of Luke starting October 10! PERFECTION NOT REQUIRED Many of us believe that we aren’t good enough to meet other people’s expectations. Maybe you can’t wrap words around why, but lurking beneath the surface of the carefully curated façade you present in public, it’s there. Being missed and marginalized by others moves us to assume we’re not quite good enough for God either. The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. In fact, this riveting account reveals that Jesus is especially fond of ragamuffins in need of a safe place to lean in and linger! Join Lisa Harper in this Bible study of a literary masterpiece that doesn’t celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked!

Our Many BlessingsA Women@CLP Gathering - Saturday, November 2, 2024 Women@CLP Gathering: Movie, Fellowship, and Blessing Bracelets! Join us on November 2, from 12:30 to 3:00 PM, for a special Women@CLP gathering as we come together to watch the heartwarming Hallmark movie, The Blessing Bracelet. The Blessing Bracelet tells the story of Dawn Spencer, a single mother who is struggling to balance her life while dealing with the debt left behind by her ex-husband. As she approaches Easter, feeling overwhelmed, Dawn finds a bracelet she made years ago with four beads, each representing a blessing in her life. By focusing on these blessings, Dawn's faith is renewed, and she experiences a positive transformation. With the support of her church community and the encouragement of a new friend, Ben, Dawn's journey takes a beautiful and unexpected turn. Watch a preview here: https://youtu.be/Z7_eknR6C6Q?si=9bT9Mwqx9hXxUqPU While the movie is set around Easter, we hope its message inspires us to focus on "Our Many Blessings" as we move into the busy holiday season. There is a $5 fee for this event to cover the cost of bracelet resources, and each attendee will leave with their own blessing bracelet. Additional bracelet kits will also be available, so you can share this beautiful expression of faith and gratitude with friends and family. This event will include an appetizer potluck—bring your favorite appetizer to share, and we'll provide the movie snacks! Come relax, enjoy fellowship, and leave inspired to embrace this season of thankfulness and blessings!

Brenda Houlihan's OrdinationSunday, October 13, 2024, 2 pm We invite you to come together in recognition and celebration of Brenda Houlihan’s call and commitment to serve Christ and His Church. As a congregation that has been a central part of Brenda's journey, it is a special privilege to witness and support this sacred calling that God has placed on her life. Ephesians 3:7 says, “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of His power.” Indeed, Brenda’s journey has been marked by God’s grace and the power of His Spirit working in and through her as she responds to His call. The call to pastoral ministry is sacred and profound. It is a commitment not only to lead and teach but also to shepherd, nurture, and care for God’s people. Brenda has demonstrated an unwavering heart for Christ, and her dedication to the church has been evident in countless ways. As we celebrate this milestone, we also affirm our own role as a church family—walking alongside her, lifting her up in prayer, and supporting her in the work that lies ahead. We hope you will join us for this special moment of recognition and blessing, as we give thanks to God for Brenda’s obedience to His call and for the continued ministry she will offer in service to His Kingdom. |

Handbell Choirs in Worship ServicesSunday, October 13, 2024 We are excited about the return of the handbells! Join us on the second Sunday of each month as the handbell choirs under the direction of Marilyn Chandler ring out the praises of our Lord and King, Jesus. The worship planning team, including all paid music staff, Board Member Brenda Martin, and our three pastors, unanimously determined that the bell choirs would ring on four occasions in the remainder of 2024: Twice from the rear of the Lord’s Sanctuary, as they so beautifully did for a recent memorial service. Twice from the front of the Lord’s Sanctuary, in the season of Advent and on Christmas Eve. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow! |
