The Stuff We're Made OfPsalm 139:1-6,Psalm 139:13-18 - Tuesday, September 5, 2023 Dear Chruch Family, On Sunday, Pastor Lynne shared Psalm 139:1-6 and Psalm 139:13-18, two passages that speak to the very core of our existence and the intimate knowledge that God has of each one of us. Psalm 139:1-6 (NIV): 1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue, you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Psalm 139:13-18 (NIV): 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. God's Intimate Knowledge These verses resonate deeply with the idea that God knows us intricately, down to the smallest detail. He understands the workings of our minds, our daily routines, and even our unspoken thoughts. The Psalmist marvels at the knowledge of God, recognizing it as something too wonderful and lofty for human comprehension. But it doesn't stop there. These verses also emphasize God's role as our Creator. He formed us in our mother's womb, meticulously crafting our inmost being. The imagery of being knit together illustrates the care and intentionality with which God designed each of us. Reflecting on God's Love As we ponder these verses, let's consider a few questions for deeper reflection:
Consider these passages and reflect on the incredible love and knowledge our Creator has for each one of us. May these verses serve as a reminder that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, intricately known by our Heavenly Father, and deeply loved beyond measure. For more infomation visit:

Our handbell choirs are made up of wonderful people just like you. Some of them couldn't read a bit of music when they started, but our Bell Master, Marilyn, taught them what they needed to know. You are invited to call Marilyn or leave word in the church office if you would like to be a part of either of the choirs. All of us would love to have you join us! September is National Preparedness Month!A Message from the CLP Safety Team National Preparedness Month is observed each September. The objective is to raise awareness about the importance of being prepared for disasters and emergencies. A large part of being prepared is being aware. Survivors of the recent tragedy in Hawaii all relate similar stories. They had a feeling that something was wrong, and they got out. Listen to your instincts. Pay attention to your surroundings. If something or someone gives you a bad feeling, don't ignore it. Remember, awareness is preparedness.

High School Mission Trip to Denver 2024Saturday, June 22, 2024 We are so VERY excited to be going on a mission trip to Denver Colorado on June 22-29 2024. This trip is open to high school students (rising 9th-12th graders of summer 2024). There is a $50 deposit required upon registration (you can pay that here or in cash/check given to Aimee). There will be another $50 due in Jan 2024. The second deadline is Jan 5 2024 with a $100 deposit. The Jan deadline is more so to give newcomers an option to sign up, so please keep that in mind when choosing when to register. As long as your students participate in the fundraisers for the trip, this will be the total cost incurred for each student. We will be partnering with YouthWorks. They plan everything from food, lodging, worship, service, and even excursions. We just have to get there! We will leave on Saturday the 22nd, drive about half way or so and stay in a hotel overnight and arrive to Denver on Sunday the 23rd. We will be in Denver until Friday the 28th when we will drive halfway home, stay in a hotel overnight, and then arrive home on Saturday the 29th. Some of the service work we will participate in includes working in a food shelf, clothing distribution center, soup kitchen, or children’s program.
