The CLP Missions Committee Liaison to World Vision is Christa Denofsky.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization that helps children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice both nationally and internationally.

World Vision (WV) provides 25 million people with access to clean water. WV is the leading non-governmental provider of clean water in the developing world. They deliver essential healthcare, nutrition support, and treatment to 2 million pregnant women, newborns, and children under 5. WV provides hope, urgent relief, and care for 16 million people impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises. They protect 4 million children by partnering with families, communities, faith leaders, and governments to address the root causes of violence against children. WV equips 8 million pastors, Christian ministry leaders, teachers, and parents with the training and resources children need to explore or deepen their faith in Jesus Christ. They empower 4.4 million people by supporting improved and resilient livelihoods and providing recovery loans to those negatively impacted by shocks like COVID-19 and natural disasters. WV delivers educational programs, books, and training for 1 million children, young adults, parents, and teachers to help students get a quality education.

One of the things World Vision did in 2022 was help Ukraine. They provided life jackets to a school in northern Kenya so students could be ferried across a lake. One of their disaster response teams brought food packets, emergency shelters, blankets, etc., to more than 9000 families in the Philippines after a typhoon flattened homes. In Afghanistan, they have a mobile health clinic supporting over 3000 villages. A woman had to bring her own water and other supplies for use during childbirth at a rural clinic in Niger. Since then, the community and WV have installed running water, etc., for safer deliveries.

Through corporate donations, churches, and community partners, WV has provided furniture to families in need in the U.S. They also help with food and rebuilding in the U.S. after tornadoes and hurricanes.

The Church at Litchfield Park donates financially to World Vision. For more information, please visit www.worldvision.org
